Personal
Compliance Operations Manager
Full-Time
Remote

We made a money+ app that gives everyone high-end rewards on every payment. Fluz aims to disrupt the payment experience by making it more social. Positioned at the intersection of social media, payments, and rewards, we are a fast-moving FinTech company experiencing significant growth. We sponsor H1B work visas.

We are seeking a hands-on Compliance Operations Manager to run the day-to-day engine of our compliance program. You will lead a team of compliance analysts and review agents across KYB, enhanced due diligence (EDD), transaction monitoring alerts, custom limit requests, and RFIs. This is a highly operational role: manage queues and SLAs closely, check the quality of every decision, and step into cases yourself when needed. You will learn our CRM inside out and build workflows, templates, and automated sequences that request documents, follow up on open items, and close cases without manual chasing.

What you will do

  • Lead the team and the queues
    • Balance daily workloads across KYB, EDD, transaction monitoring, custom limits, and RFI queues.
    • Track SLAs, backlog targets, and quality standards; review case work closely and correct issues in real time.
    • Run regular quality assurance reviews of analyst and agent decisions, and turn findings into training, feedback, and updated procedures.
    • Act as the escalation point for complex cases and make or recommend final decisions in line with policy.
  • Run core compliance operations
    • Oversee KYB and business onboarding, including beneficial ownership, business verification, and risk rating.
    • Oversee EDD reviews for higher-risk customers, including source of funds, source of wealth, and ongoing monitoring.
    • Oversee transaction monitoring alert review, investigation, documentation, and escalation of potential suspicious activity for SAR decisioning.
    • Manage the custom limits process: review limit increase requests, apply risk-based criteria, and keep approvals documented and consistent.
    • Coordinate responses to RFIs from customers, sponsor banks, and partners, ensuring answers are accurate, complete, and on time.
  • Build customer communication workflows
    • Learn our CRM in depth and build workflows that communicate with customers during onboarding, EDD, alert reviews, limit requests, and RFIs.
    • Create and maintain templates, automated follow-ups, reminders, and status updates so customers know what is needed and by when.
    • Partner with Product, Engineering, and Customer Success to connect compliance workflows with internal tools and case management.
    • Find manual steps and replace them with automation, rules, or agent-assisted review where it is safe to do so.
  • Report and improve
    • Report on case volumes, turnaround times, backlog, quality scores, and risk trends to compliance leadership.
    • Keep procedures, playbooks, and decision criteria current as products, regulations, and bank expectations change.
    • Support audits, exams, and sponsor bank reviews by producing evidence of how reviews are performed and documented.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in compliance operations, financial crimes, AML/BSA, fraud, or risk operations at a fintech, bank, payments company, or other regulated business.
  • 2+ years managing or leading a team, queue, or vendor in a production compliance environment.
  • Hands-on experience with KYB, EDD, transaction monitoring, and RFIs; ability to do the work, not only supervise it.
  • Strong operational discipline: comfortable managing SLAs, metrics, and individual case quality in detail.
  • Experience configuring workflows in a CRM, case management, or marketing automation tool (for example Attio, HubSpot, Salesforce, Customer.io, or similar).
  • Clear written communication, including customer-facing requests and well-documented compliance decisions.
  • Ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in a sponsor bank / BaaS program, card issuing, or payments.
  • Experience supervising automated or AI-assisted review processes, outsourced reviewers, or offshore teams.
  • Familiarity with AML/BSA, OFAC, sanctions screening, SAR filing, and beneficial ownership requirements.
  • Basic data skills: Excel or Google Sheets, SQL, Metabase, Looker, or similar.
  • CAMS, CFE, or other relevant certification.

Core Competencies

  • Operational rigor and attention to detail
  • Team leadership and direct feedback
  • Sound risk judgment
  • Systems and workflow thinking
  • Clear written communication
  • High integrity and discretion
