We are looking for a Data Science Lead who combines a curious, research-driven mindset with the ability to set direction for others. You’ll identify where data, models and automation can create the most value across the company, build and guide a team to deliver on those opportunities using tools like Python, SQL and Excel, and champion a strong data culture by partnering with leadership and helping every team make better, data-informed decisions.

What you will do

• Lead the data science function at Fluz, setting priorities, technical direction, and best practices across data science initiatives
• Partner with Product, Engineering, Growth, and Leadership to identify high-impact opportunities and turn business problems into data-driven solutions
• Lead the development and application of statistical models, machine learning, causal inference, and experimentation to drive product and business decisions
• Oversee the development, deployment, and continuous improvement of machine learning models, ensuring solutions are reliable, scalable, and aligned with business goals
• Communicate complex insights and recommendations clearly to technical and non-technical stakeholders, influencing product and company strategy
• Mentor and support data scientists, fostering strong technical standards, collaboration, and a culture of experimentation and continuous learning

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or a related quantitative field, with 5+ years of relevant data science or machine learning experience
• Strong SQL and Python skills, with hands-on experience in data analysis, statistical modeling, machine learning, and visualization
• Strong understanding of machine learning, experimentation, causal inference, and statistical methodologies, with the ability to select the right approach for complex problems
• Proven experience leading end-to-end data science initiatives and translating ambiguous business problems into practical, measurable solutions
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence product and business decisions through data
• Experience mentoring or leading data scientists, with a track record of setting technical standards and developing team capabilities

Nice-to-have skills

• Experience with data engineering and pipelines, cloud platforms, production ML systems, AI/LLM applications, or FinTech/payments, including areas such as fraud, risk, AML, or KYC.

Our Tech Stack

Our Mobile application is built with React Native and Apollo on the Front End. Backend is built with Node.JS, GraphQL, PostgreSQL, Redis deployed on GCP through CI and Docker Images.
