About Fluz

Fluz is a rewards-first payments company. We build the virtual card and gift card infrastructure that lets people and businesses earn on spending they were already doing — and we let other companies embed that same infrastructure into their own products through our API. We issue virtual cards, run wallets and virtual bank accounts, and move serious volume every month across consumer, corporate and enterprise programs.

We’re a small team that ships fast. We’ve just reorganized into three GM-led business lines and
we’re hiring across all of them.

This role sits in Platformour embedded finance business.

Embedded finance means other companies use our technology to put payment features inside their own products, under their own brand. A loyalty app that wants to hand its users a spendable virtual card. An HR platform that needs to send employee rewards. A marketplace paying out sellers. A survey company compensating participants. Rather than build card issuing, wallets, compliance and payout rails themselves — years of work and a banking relationship most companies can’t get — they connect to us and launch in weeks. Their customers see their brand; we’re the infrastructure underneath.

We cover the full range of how money moves: pay-ins (bringing funds in), wallets (holding and governing them), spend (branded virtual cards with merchant and category controls), rewards (gift cards and prepaid delivered instantly), and disbursement (open-loop payouts). Clients use one piece or all five. We’ve processed $5 billion across cards, wallets, pay-ins, payouts and bill payments, and clients integrate through our APIs, drop-in adapters, or low-code widgets. Our developer documentation is public if you want to see what we actually hand to a client.

The role

You take a signed embedded finance client from contract to live, transacting and ramping — and you own the date.

We tell clients they can go live in weeks rather than quarters. You are the person who has to make that true.

This is the seat where our Platform business either works or doesn’t. Sales closes a client with an expectation of speed; engineering has other priorities; the client’s own team has its own roadmap; and underwriting and bank approval run on a timeline nobody controls. You hold all of that together and produce a client that’s live and growing.

It’s a genuinely hybrid role. You need to be technical enough to write a solution design a client’s engineering team will sign, and commercial enough to own the relationship while you do it.

What you’ll do
  • Own each client from signed contract to steady-state volume
  • Produce the solution design document and flow-of-funds diagram, and get client sign-off before build begins
  • Run the integration: API keys, sandbox, webhooks, card issuance flows, identity verification pass-through, funding and settlement mechanics, wallet provisioning, hosted card delivery, dispute and chargeback handling
  • Pick the right path to live for each client — full API, drop-in adapters onto what they already run, or low-code widgets — and push back when they’re reaching for more integration than the use case needs
  • When a client needs something we don’t have yet, write the requirement, get it prioritized, and hold the date
  • Drive the client’s underwriting, enhanced due diligence and banking partner approval to completion — keep the bank, our compliance team and the client on a single timeline
  • Run go-live: test transactions, limit and velocity configuration, monitoring, escalation paths, support runbook
  • Manage the ramp. First live transaction is not the finish line — contracted volume is
  • Hand off to a technical account manager with a written runbook covering architecture, configuration, contacts, commercial terms and known issues
What we’re looking for
  • 4+ years in technical implementation, solutions engineering or technical program management at a payments or fintech company
  • You can read API documentation and write a solution design document that a client’s CTO will actually sign
  • Comfort owning a client relationship and an internal engineering dependency at the same time, and being the one accountable for both
  • Relentlessness about dates, and the willingness to escalate early rather than explain late
  • Clear technical writing
Bonus points
  • You’ve implemented card issuing, wallet, payout or gift card programs
  • You’ve worked inside a sponsor bank model and understand what bank approval actually involves
  • You’ve built implementation templates and runbooks that scaled past you
How you’ll be measured

Time from signature to first live transaction. Percentage of signed clients live within the contracted window. Ramp to contracted volume at day 90 and day 180. Rework and slipped dates.

Why this role

This is a new seat. Today the work is spread across sales and operations, which is exactly why we’re hiring — you’d be building the function, not maintaining it. Direct line to the GM, engineering and the founders.
