Personal
Sponsor Bank Compliance Specialist
Full-Time
Remote

We made a money+ app that gives everyone high-end rewards on every payment. Fluz aims to disrupt the payment experience by making it more social. Positioned at the intersection of social media, payments, and rewards, we are a fast-moving FinTech company experiencing significant growth. We sponsor H1B work visas.

We are seeking a hands-on Sponsor Bank Compliance Specialist to be the day-to-day compliance contact for our sponsor and partner banks. Think of this role as an account manager whose accounts are banks: answer bank questions, keep each bank’s picture of our programs complete and current, and get marketing and launches submitted and approved on time. You have worked on either side of a sponsor bank / BaaS relationship and can keep several banks, approval queues, and deadlines moving at once.

What you will do

  • Be the point of contact for each bank
    • Answer questions from each sponsor bank quickly, accurately, and completely.
    • Coordinate responses to bank RFIs, due diligence requests, questionnaires, and escalations, pulling information from Compliance, Risk, Product, Finance, and Legal.
    • Prepare for and join recurring program reviews with each bank, and track action items through to closure.
    • Raise issues with banks early, explain context, and follow through on commitments.
  • Keep banks informed about our programs
    • Maintain an up-to-date inventory of every program, product, and use case running at each bank, including card programs, money movement, and Platform clients.
    • Notify banks of new programs, product changes, new partners or clients, and material changes in volume or risk profile, in line with each bank’s notification and approval requirements.
    • Prepare periodic program reporting for banks, such as volumes, complaints, disputes, compliance metrics, and issue logs.
    • Track each bank’s agreement requirements, oversight expectations, and deadlines, and follow up with internal teams so they are met.
  • Bank approvals for marketing and launches
    • Review marketing materials, website and app content, disclosures, cardholder terms, emails, social posts, and partner co-marketing for UDAAP, Reg E, Reg Z, network rules, and bank-specific requirements, and work with Marketing and Legal to fix issues.
    • Submit materials to each bank for approval and follow them through to a decision.
    • Submit new products, features, programs, and client onboarding for bank approval before launch.
    • Keep a record of every submission, approval, condition, and expiry by bank so we can show what was approved, when, and by whom.
  • Support oversight and exams
    • Support bank oversight reviews, audits, and onsite visits by gathering evidence and drafting responses.
    • Track bank findings, remediation items, and corrective action plans through to closure.
    • Partner with the Audit & Policy Specialist to keep policies and controls aligned with each bank’s requirements.

Qualifications

  • 4+ years of experience in fintech or bank compliance, BaaS program management, bank partnerships, or a related role.
  • Direct experience working with sponsor banks or as part of a bank’s fintech / BaaS oversight team.
  • Working knowledge of AML/BSA, UDAAP, Reg E, Reg Z, card network rules, and marketing / advertising review.
  • Comfortable working directly with bank compliance and program teams.
  • Excellent written communication, including clear and accurate responses to regulator-style questions.
  • Highly organized, with a track record of handling many parallel requests, approvals, and deadlines.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with card issuing, prepaid, gift card, or embedded finance programs.
  • Experience with marketing compliance review and approval workflows.
