GP Federal Credit Union was chartered in 1935 as Georgia Power Rome Division Employees Credit Union, headquartered in Rome, Georgia. It served over 45 select employee groups and their families. In late 2025 members approved a merger into Credit Union 1, with full integration underway through 2026 and 2027.
