Mazuma Credit Union was founded in 1948 in Kansas City as Kansas City National Federation of Federal Employees Credit Union, later shortened to FECU before becoming Mazuma in 1998. Headquartered in Kansas City, Missouri, it now serves the metro area through 12 locations in Missouri and Kansas with about $900 million in assets.
Mazuma Credit Union has been part of Kansas City since 1948, when Wyla and Joe Pinkerton started it with a single $5 deposit for federal employees. Renamed Mazuma for its 50th anniversary in 1998, it now serves the metro through a dozen branches across Missouri and Kansas with everyday checking, savings, and loans.
