Account Manager — Corporate Cards

About Fluz

Fluz is a rewards-first payments company. We build the virtual card and gift card infrastructure that lets people and businesses earn on spending they were already doing — and we let other companies embed that same infrastructure into their own products through our API. We issue virtual cards, run wallets and virtual bank accounts, and move serious volume every month across consumer, corporate and enterprise programs.

We’re a small team that ships fast. We’ve just reorganized into three GM-led business lines, and we’re hiring a General Manager for each.

This role runs Corporate CardFluz Business. It’s a spend management platform that pays for itself. Businesses control team spend, issue unlimited virtual corporate cards with real controls, pay bills, and earn cash back on everyday expenses — all without leaving the bank they already use. Our cards run on decoupled debit, so they fund straight from an account the customer already has, with no migration, no credit check and no per-user fees. Rewards are actual cash, posted the moment a transaction clears — and on procurement and concentrated merchant spend, the discounts get deep enough to change a company’s cost base rather than just decorate it.

We serve the full range, from early-stage startups issuing their first few cards through to enterprises running serious purchasing volume, on one platform that scales with them — and companies can use it through our app or integrate directly via API. Over 9,000 businesses use it, and we’ve paid out more than $100M in cash back so far.

The role

At Fluz, an account manager is called a Sidekick. You get a named book of corporate spending accounts, you carry a revenue number on it, and you’re expected to grow it.

These are businesses that buy at real volume across procurement, media buying, travel, gifting and inventory. Some arrived as small teams and grew into it; others were already at scale when they signed. Either way, growth here comes from expansion rather than new logos — an account that starts with one department buying gift cards can become five departments running card spend, travel and cardholders across the business. Finding and unlocking that is most of the job.

Part of it is making sure a large order never fails for a preventable reason. When a customer plans a six-figure purchase, funding, limits and timing have to be right in advance. Getting that wrong once costs more trust than a quarter of good service earns back.

You’re also how new things reach the market. We ship constantly — new products, new merchants and deeper rates, new controls, new ways to fund and pay — and none of it matters until customers actually use it. When something launches, you’re expected to know it is cold, work out which accounts in your book it’s right for, and go sell it in. Not announce it. Sell it.

What you’ll do
  • Own a named book of corporate accounts and act as their operator, not their ticket queue
  • Monitor spend daily by account and by merchant — chase declines and dips before the customer notices them
  • Maintain rate agreements: renegotiate as volume changes, handle reconciliations and payouts, and kill rates that are underwater
  • Manage limits, funding capacity and cut-off timing so a large planned order clears the first time
  • Expand accounts — more of the product (procurement through gift cards, bill pay, virtual bank accounts, travel card), more departments, more cardholders, more merchants
  • Take everything we launch to your book: know what’s shipping, work out which accounts it’s right for, and sell it in rather than announce it
  • Handle exceptions with evidence and a recommendation: refunds, capture discrepancies, failed transactions, returns, fee waivers
  • Run quarterly business reviews covering spend, earn delivered, rate performance and what’s coming
  • Bring back what you learn — what landed, what didn’t, and what your customers keep asking for that we don’t have yet
  • Keep account records current on every rate, exception and commitment
What we’re looking for
  • 3+ years in B2B account management carrying a revenue number
  • Experience with accounts that spend at scale — you should be comfortable when a single transaction is larger than some people’s quota
  • Detail-level command of the product. When a large order fails, the customer calls you — and you should be able to answer
  • Strong commercial instinct on rate versus margin. You can tell when a customer is costing you money, and you act on it
  • Skill at multi-stakeholder relationships across accounts payable, procurement, finance and operations
  • Numerate and organized. You’ll be reconciling real dollars
  • Someone who goes looking for expansion rather than waiting for the customer to ask
Bonus points
  • You’ve managed corporate card, expense management or corporate gifting programs
  • You’ve handled payment operations issues — chargebacks, returns, settlement timing, funding cut-offs
  • You’ve run QBRs that customers actually found useful
How you’ll be measured

Month-over-month and year-over-year spend growth on your book. Net revenue after rate cost. Logo and dollar retention. Expansion into new merchants, products and departments.

Why this role

Corporate Card is the line with the clearest runway. The product is built, the customers are real businesses with real budgets, and there’s meaningful unclaimed expansion sitting inside the existing base. You’d be early enough to take a lot of it.
