Compliance Specialist

We are looking for a detail-oriented, proactive Compliance Specialist who excels at navigating regulatory requirements, supporting bank partnerships, and strengthening internal controls to ensure Fluz operates responsibly and in full compliance.

What you will do

Support bank partnerships by attending meetings and assisting with testing, audits, and compliance reporting requirements.
Coordinate internal and external reviews of marketing assets to ensure compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and partner guidelines.
Conduct routine testing of first-line defense controls to identify gaps, risks, and improvement opportunities.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams (e.g., Operations, Product, Marketing, Customer Support) to address compliance-related issues and implement corrective actions.
Assist with vendor risk assessments, complaint management processes, and regulatory training initiatives.
Manage and track company-wide compliance training, identifying opportunities to strengthen compliance awareness and risk protection.
Support audits, examinations, and regulatory inquiries by gathering documentation, preparing responses, and maintaining accurate records.
Help ensure company adherence to applicable laws, regulations, and partner requirements, minimizing legal, regulatory, and financial risks.
Maintain clear documentation of compliance activities, testing results, and remediation efforts.
Stay informed on relevant regulatory changes and help assess their impact on Fluz’s products, processes, and partnerships.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Legal Studies, Compliance, Risk Management, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
3+ years of experience in compliance, risk management, regulatory support, or a related role within fintech, financial services, or payments.
Strong understanding of compliance frameworks and the importance of internal controls and risk mitigation.
Excellent organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to manage multiple compliance activities simultaneously.
Strong attention to detail and ability to document processes, findings, and action items clearly and accurately.
Effective written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to work with both internal teams and external partners.
Ability to work independently, take initiative, and follow through on assigned responsibilities with minimal supervision.
Proficiency in productivity and office tools, including Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, and similar platforms, with strong skills in spreadsheets, document management, and collaboration tools.
Comfortable working in a fast-paced, evolving startup environment.
Nice-to-have skills: Experience working with bank partners, audits, examinations, or regulatory reporting; familiarity with fintech, payments, digital wallets, or mobile financial applications; knowledge of relevant regulatory requirements such as KYC, AML, OFAC, consumer protection, and PCI-DSS; experience reviewing marketing or other customer-facing materials for compliance; exposure to vendor risk management, complaint handling, and compliance training programs; and experience using compliance tracking tools, document management systems, or internal testing frameworks.

The Bookkeeper will support Fluz’s daily financial operations by helping keep records accurate, organized, and up to date. This role focuses on transactional bookkeeping, basic reconciliations, and financial data organization. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, eager to learn, comfortable using QuickBooks Online, and excited to grow in a fast-moving FinTech environment.

What you will do

Record daily financial transactions in QuickBooks Online, including expenses, payments, deposits, and journal entries as directed.
Maintain accurate and up-to-date general ledger records and supporting documentation.
Perform routine bank and credit card reconciliations and assist with identifying and resolving discrepancies.
Assist in the preparation of monthly financial reports by ensuring underlying data is complete and accurate.
Track and organize vendor information, invoices, W-9s, and payment records.
Support accounts payable and accounts receivable processes, including invoice tracking and payment status follow-ups.
Help maintain internal financial organization, calendars, and documentation to support planning and forecasting activities.
Identify opportunities to improve bookkeeping processes, documentation, and system organization as the company scales.
Ensure confidentiality and accuracy of all financial records and data.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred (or equivalent practical experience).
2+ years of experience in a bookkeeping or accounting support role.
Hands-on experience with QuickBooks Online (required).
Strong proficiency in Excel or Google Sheets (basic formulas, reconciliations, data organization).
Experience supporting bookkeeping for a retail, e-commerce, or FinTech-related business is a plus.
High attention to detail with strong organizational and documentation skills.
Ability to follow established accounting processes while proactively flagging issues or discrepancies.
